The Mid-Norfolk Railway
Preservation Trust
Was established
in 1995 with the aim of buying and restoring the then-disused
line between the Norfolk market towns of Dereham and Wymondham.
We currently own 28km (17.5 miles) of track
and trackbed through central Norfolk's most attractive
countryside, making us one of the largest preserved railways
in the UK today.

Whitwell and Reepham Railway

We re-opened the station on the 28th February 2009 nearly
50 years after it was closed to passengers on 2nd March 1959
(Freight was ceased on 1st May 1964). Our main intention is
to restore the Whitwell Station to its former glory which includes
re-laying of track and sidings, acquiring rolling stock and
setup a museum relating to the Midland & Great Northern
Railway and Whitwell Station.
